Qualification Purpose
The purpose of the qualification is to develop learners’ knowledge of the adult social care sector
and is aimed at learners who are working towards employment in the sector
Entry Requirements
There are no specific entry requirements however learners should have a minimum of level two
in literacy and numeracy or equivalent.
The qualification is suitable for learners aged 14 years and above.
Progression
Successful learners can progress to other qualifications such as:
TQUK Level 2 Certificate in Preparing to Work in Adult Social Care
TQUK Level 2 Diploma in Care.
Structure
Learners must achieve 6 credits from the mandatory units
This qualification, accredited on the Qualifications and Credit Framework (QCF), helps boost learners career prospects by giving them the skills, knowledge and understanding that employers look for.
Units offered include:?an introduction to duty of care in health, social care or children and young peoples settings, and understanding the role of the social care worker.
