Qualification Purpose
The purpose of the qualification is to develop learners’ knowledge and understanding relevant to
working with the elderly
Entry Requirements
There are no specific entry requirements however learners should have a minimum of level two
in literacy and numeracy or equivalent.
The qualification is suitable for learners of 16 years of age and above.

Successful learners can progress to other qualifications such as:
Level 2 Diploma in Care (RQF)
Level 3 Diploma in Adult Care (RQF)
Level 2 Certificate in Dementia Care (RQF)
Level 2/3 Award in Awareness of Dementia (RQF)
Level 2 Certificate in the Principles of Dementia Care (RQF)
Level 3 Certificate in Understanding the Principles of Dementia Care (RQF)
Level 3 Award in Awareness of End of Life Care (RQF)
Level 2/3 Certificate in the Principles of End of Life Care (RQF)
Level 3 Certificate in Working in End of Life Care (RQF)
Level 2/3 Certificate in Preparing to Work in Adult Social Care (RQF)
